2. Summary - Write a paragraph including the general main idea. Also write 3 additional paragraphs that support the main idea including the supporting details.

Today we introduced our new unit, Summary.  This will be our last unit.

Don't forget book reports are due on Wednesday, May 6

Today in class:

Write a three paragraph essay about you and springtime.  Use Reference 103 (pg. 167 - one supporting sentence) to guide you as you write.  Your paragraph should include:

pre-writing map
title at the top-centered, your name under it, neat handwriting, wide margins, written in black ink
correct number of paragraphs and sentences
a vocabulary word from this F&F unit - circle in red
a word that is a homonym - circle in green
any Wordly Wise word - circle in blue
a complex sentence - underline in red
a compound sentence - underline in blue
correct capitalization throughout
correct punctuation throughout

Staple in this order:  direction page on top, essay in the middle, prewriting map on bottom

For the next several days we will be doing intellectual art, taking the performance task test, and watching the movie that goes along with one of the books we just read.

Friday is performance task

We will have a test tomorrow on Skill Knowledge and vocabulary tomorrow.  You will find the Pattern Statement, Process Questions, and Visual tool link on the right of the blog.  Also, you will find a vocabulary review game for Drawing Conclusions.
